Welcome back loves!
This week we're going to get deep into Hip-Hop music.Of course we'll talk about the hottest Hip-Hop tracks out now, but we are also going to talk about some old school Hip-Hop.Holla back ya'll!
Hip-Hop music was started back in the 70's but wasn't really popular until the 80's.A dude named Disc Jockeys who was one of the 1st people to start making beats on the turn tables, basically started it.Later came another form of Hip-Hop,MCing.We know this now as rapping. Some famous rappers in the 80's were Run DMC who had a a couple hot songs called "King of Rock"and "Runs House".Another hot Hip-Hop (say that three times fast) group in the 80's were the Beastie Boys. Now these guys are a THE BOMB SHIZZLE.I have to give them some serious props because the group is made up of four white guys.Being white and trying to pursue a career in Hip-Hop music there is always going to be people who would try to put them down,Haterzz. But the Boys didn't let that stop them from making some really popular hits like "Sabotage" and "Ch-check it out"There stuff is grrreat So ch-check them out=)
Over time Hip-Hop music has changed in many ways. The music, the rhymes,a bunch of things.Lets jump forward into the 2000's.Nowadays Hip-Hop music comes from all types of people and in all shapes and forms. Some really good Hip-Hop artists these day are Soulja Boy,The Dream and T.I.Hip-Hop artists are also combining forces with other types of artist who make different kind or music.Lil' Wayne, a cool rapper, has recently been rapping in some rock songs.A really hot one is "Let it Rock"who also features Kevin Rudolf. If you scroll all the way down to the page, you'll see a bunch of videos, click on the first one and you can listen to the awesome track.
Thanks for tuning in.Hope to see you next week when we go through Rock and Roll baby!Until next time loves

I think it's great that you traced back the history. Where did you learn that stuff? The Beasties still play today and have put out some pretty cool groovy instrumental albums. My fave is The Roots... love their lyrics and their music - they totally rock out and play all live instruments.
ReplyDeleteSo What cha Want is also in my head! x{D
ReplyDeleteWell that what happens when you play Rock Band to long! x{D Awesome blog Ki!
I learned a lot by reading this... I like rap, I think, but just don't know enough... I really love break dancing though (wish I could do it!) and know that rap and break dancing are connected, right?
ReplyDeleteI didn't know that....well half the stuff that's on this post i didn't know but it was interesting on how the hip-hop and rap started o.o
